Arrival in Paro

Land at Paro International Airport with its dramatic Himalayan approach. Meet your private guide and transfer to your luxury lodge. Afternoon visit to Paro Rinpung Dzong, the fortress-monastery overlooking the valley. Welcome dinner featuring traditional Bhutanese cuisine.

Paro to Thimphu

Drive to Thimphu (1.5 hours). Visit the grand Tashichho Dzong, seat of the Bhutanese government. Explore the Folk Heritage Museum and National Textile Museum. Afternoon visit to the towering Buddha Dordenma statue (51m). Evening stroll through Thimphu's charming main street.

Thimphu Cultural Day

Morning visit to the Memorial Chorten and Changangkha Lhakhang, Thimphu's oldest temple. Afternoon archery experience — Bhutan's national sport. Visit the takin preserve to see Bhutan's national animal. Traditional hot stone bath in the evening.

Tiger's Nest Hike

Drive back to Paro. Hike to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery (3,120m), clinging to a cliff 900m above the valley floor. The 2-3 hour ascent passes through pine forest with prayer flags. Lunch at the viewpoint cafeteria. Descend and celebrate with a farewell dinner.

Departure

Morning visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest temples (7th century). Transfer to Paro airport.
