Arrival in Kathmandu

Drive to Jiri

Private vehicle transfer to Jiri (7-8 hours) — the starting point of the original Everest approach before Lukla airport was built. Scenic drive through the Mahabharat hills. Arrive in the charming bazaar town of Jiri.

Trek to Shivalaya

Descend from Jiri through terraced farmland and forest to the Likhu Khola valley. Cross the river and climb to Shivalaya, a small village with a Buddhist monastery. First views of the distant Himalayan peaks.

Trek to Pikey Base Camp

Climb steeply through rhododendron and pine forest toward Pikey Peak. Pass through Sherpa villages and Buddhist shrines. Arrive at Pikey Base Camp area with growing mountain views.

Summit Pikey Peak (4,065m), Trek to Junbesi

Pre-dawn departure for Pikey Peak summit (4,065m). Watch the sunrise illuminate a staggering panorama: Everest (8,849m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,485m), Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Cho Oyu (8,188m), and Gauri Shankar (7,134m). The entire eastern Himalayan chain stretches across the horizon. Descend through forest to the beautiful Sherpa village of Junbesi in a sun-filled valley.

Explore Junbesi

Rest day in the charming village of Junbesi. Visit the Thupten Choling Monastery, one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in the Solu region with over 300 monks and nuns. Explore the village and surrounding trails.

Trek to Ringmu

Trek south through forest and farmland, crossing ridges with mountain views. Pass through small Sherpa and Rai villages to Ringmu.

Trek to Phaplu

Final trek through the Solu countryside to Phaplu, the district headquarters with an airstrip. Visit the Chiwong Monastery near Phaplu. Farewell dinner with your trekking crew.

Fly to Kathmandu

Morning flight from Phaplu to Kathmandu (weather permitting) or drive via Jiri. Transfer to luxury hotel. Afternoon at leisure.
